im back! after finishing my second year of film school i’ve been enjoying a break of reading nothing but scripts and comic books for two weeks. its quite nice.
so here is the deal with the script. its a rough draft right now. and anyone is welcomed to read it. i just want to keep tabs on it. so if you want to read it email me and let me know.
i actually am going to start working on a second draft that i hope to be finished with by the end of next month. i am really happy with what came out with the first draft. but no script can ever really be done in one go.
its also funny because i recently read a script called “Freshly Popped” and the story follows a girl who works at a movie theater and is trying to figure out who to loose her virginity to. hence the title.
so yes. there is another movie coming out set in a movie theater. that seems to always happen, but what are you gonna do? its a different sort of story and tone than my script. (which still doesn’t have a title i’m happy with).
to be frankly honest i was a little discouraged when i heard that it is actually getting made. or at least it might. so now i kind of sort of have to worry about making sure to not copy them.
there are a few things in “Freshly Popped” that hit the nail on the head on what its like to work in a movie theater. and sometimes they do it so well it makes me wish i had thought of it first.
anyways. soon i will be trying to get the location locked. i am going to try incredibly hard to get the actual surf and sand to let me shoot there. i called them a few months ago, but i dont think they took me too seriously.
i also still have to figure out how to populate the theater with posters and stuff without breaking any copyright laws. oh how they give me a headache.
