From now on I am not looking back on my old notes unless I really have to. Its all forward thinking from here.

Minor Setbacks
So last week I spent all day rewriting my notecards. Plotting the whole movie out. It wasn’t anything drastic I just wanted to type them up in an organized way. I hit print and left the house to go to work.

I don’t know why but staring at a blank note book is far less intimidating than staring at a blinking cursor.
Still working on getting the new draft done. I just need to do it. And stop talking about it.

A simple new draft is what I thought I wanted to do. But what I know the script needs is a big overhall. And its not because I’m not happy with my first two drafts. I really am. I just germinated on the story, the location, where the story came from and I know that it simply can be better. I basically get one shot to tell this story like I want to and I want it to be worth it.

writing away at the second draft right now. doing some brain storming and outlining. had a really great character breakthrough. and all it took was for me to just sit my ass down and do some writing. i dont know why that is so hard to commit to doing sometimes. but it just is. will be finishing the second draft by july 31st. that is my own personal deadline.

im back! after finishing my second year of film school i’ve been enjoying a break of reading nothing but scripts and comic books for two weeks. its quite nice.

The official first draft of the tentatively titled “Tickets” is finished. And it feels good.
Will be uploading it soon.
I am going to finish the official first draft of the script. The one I will let people read and comment. It will be done before I sleep today.
I will fully admit something here and now. My rough draft has a so-so second draft. But um really excited to improve it today. Off to it. Wish me luck.

“Fade out. The End” Rough draft. 99 pages. The first draft of the surf and sand movie is done. stick a fork in me I’m done. For now…. here come the rewrites

I’m not sitting in starbucks finishing my screenplay. I’m in chipotle. Is that just as bad?

This is one of those scene’s I’ve had in my head for a while. It seems weird to actually have it in this form. The story is making some headway. Getting close to the end of the script.

went to the theater the other day and took some pictures. it was the first time i had been there in a while.

Writing a blog about writing a blog isn’t interesting at all. Thats why the updates are sparse during the writing phase. Right now its more of a “hey I swear I’m actually working on it”

I wrote SIX pages AND did revising. Now thats what I call progress!

yes still writing. finished the outline so i know mostly where the story is going. im going to hold on to that till i finish the first draft. i have about 20 pages now. so here they are.

wrote some more for my screenwriting class. i forgot how time consuming writing a script is. I was probably writing for a few hours and only got 5 pages. i almost don’t get how people write scripts in like two weeks. i envy that. its been a month and i only have 20 pages. i need to get on this a bit more.
i decided that i am going to take the film out of a time period. at first i was going to make it set in 2005 where you can have star wars episode 3. but i realized two things.
one: i probably couldnt get the rights to all the star wars merchandise.
two: setting it in 2005 doesn’t add much to the plot at all.
so yeah.

i decided that there should be a scene where the employes chase someone down who has stolen a banner. because its always a mystery to me as to how that has happened and we not notice it.

i began thinking about this years ago while working. i felt that there has not been a movie for people who work at movie theaters. there has been one for connivence stores and restaurants, but few truly understand that life of a movie theater. the effort that goes into getting those images onto the screen.
so i started writing things down. and observing the relationships i saw at the theater....
